With regards to your first querry, iba na talaga ang tunog ng makina after running 5K from its brand new state. Fitted na lahat ng internal moving parts. Ika nga break-in period is over. :D

On your second state, pag bagong andar ang makina lalo na after having it rested for a couple of hours. Bumababa na lahat ng langis sa oil pan. It is natural for your engine to sound like there is metal to metal contact, infact that is what's happening inside. It takes about 10-20 seconds before the oil gets pumped internally, ofcourse it all depends on how big the engine and its oil pump is. Kaya masama yung pagkakaandar pa lang ng makina then sabay ng mataas na rpm agad, let it idle and oil circulate first before putting more strain on your engine.

Di ko sinusunod pag dating sa mga filters ang manuals. 20K kms. kung nasa ibang bansa ka at siguradong malinis ang fuel na papasok sa makina. I change my fuel filters every 10K kms. Minsan nagkakatubig sa loob kaya nahihirapan ang fuel system, or pwede rin naman itaktak kung tubig lang ang laman. Kung dirt and grime naman, mas makakabuti pang palitan na it will just choke your fuel system.

Frank, Ungas :: Ano yung 16 na clearance na sinasabi nyo? YUng gap? Gap for 4d56 is straight 25 - warm. intake and exhaust.

But then again baka pang TDIC versions lang to. baka iba sa N/A

    Sir Alfred,
Sa manual, 10 supposed to be ang gap ng 4d56. Anong advantage ng mas malaki ang gap?

Hmmm.... parang mahirap explain kung ano itsura nun ah... well it is simply the gap between valve and adjust screw or in some other engines valve rod and adjust screw.

Yung binabanggit ng clearance na 10, 12, 14, 16, 18... 25 eto yung feeler gauge measured in millimeters ie; 0.10mm, 0.12mm, 0.14mm so on and so forth.

A mechanic told me once that it is better to adjust it when the engine is cold. May metal expansion daw pag warm ang engine and adjusting it would get different results.
