    18" question...

Ok lang ba sa 03 camry (stock 205/60/15) ang style na 'to:

    http://www.conceptonewheels.com/wheelhtml/profile.htm

Objective is to inch up but look more classy than sporty, because many people regard the car (and color - parang beige) as pang-lolo. Baka hindi bumagay.

To minimize tagtag effect, tire sizes considered are:
    235/50/18
    225/50/18
    245/45/18
    234/45/18

Any knowledge on that bridgestone tire with rimguard? What about nitto?

Would appreciate any opinions/ suggestions, as I've never paid any interest to rim and tire upgrades in the past, and don't know what works best.

I think Evangelista in Makati and Blumentritt in Manila are good places to look for cheap tires. Plus there are cheap tires made in Taiwan and China that are flooding the market, if you're really on a tight budget. Halos kapresyo nung 285/60 18" na Falken ang 285/50 20" na Wanli (China) - mga 9K range ata.

AFAIK, the stock tire of an '03 Camry is 205/65r15. Anyhow, the wheel you posted above is quite classy. Go for it!

As regards the sizes you're considering, the closest to stock is actually 235/40r18. I had done stock and 235/40r18 on my Camry before, and there was no difference in ride quality, acceleration and fuel consumption. Maganda suspension ng Camry, hindi tumagtag sa 18" at 40 series. The 18s did a better job in terms of handling, of course. The only downside was the gap in the wheelwell: http://www.sounddomain.com/ride/599474/3 so I lowered it. Yun, mejo tumagtag na ng konti, but then when other people drive it, they just attribute the slight ride deterioration to the rims.

235/50r18 is too big. I tried it before, either hindi nagkasya, or sayad na. Also, it looked like it was for an SUV that was force-fitted into a Camry. The other 3 sizes are also overall bigger than the stock tire, so the speedo is not gonna be as accurate, and acceleration will be slightly affected. I'm not also sure which of these are readily available.

Here's a little suggestion, based on some experimentation. If you're not too concerned with the slight discrepancy in speedo readings and additional weight, thus slightly less performance, try having 235/45r18 measured with those rims on your ride and see how they fit. That size is almost the same overall as the 215/55r17 and 215/60r16 of the v6 and 2.4L Camrys respectively. They should fit the wheelwells just right.

I'm running on the stock 17s now. They're heavier than the stock 15s, but provide better traction. And they're lighter than the 20s that I had on previously.

Siguro po if you can stretch your budget a bit more ay 22's na lang ang kunin nyo kasi mukha pa rin pong maliit ang 20's para sa expy nyo IMHO

+1. Plus, since the spokes are black, they're gonna look a bit small. 22s at least

20" mags
