Would really want to test or own a PHEV someday. Its a good starting point before plunging into a full EV.

I average around 60kms a day and then lets say a PHEV has around 50kms of pure EV range. With all the regen braking, I think the pure EV range can cover my daily trips. Imagine that, never going to gas up on a weekly basis. Probably, like once a month to top off the tank.

i'm already exempt from coding. i have two cars.
    heh heh.

    seriously,
the government should do more than coding exemption.
it should give really attractive tax breaks (significant and attractive discounts), such that the EV car operator comes out spending less for acquisition and use.
naturally, govt should also make charging stations as ubiquitous as gas stations, with competitive pricing as well.

    so!
how many 18650s do i order?

    errr...
how's the aircon of these EV vehicles?

That's a huge concern for EVs. AC could eat up a lot of range.

I would say 8 to 10 year warranty should be made standard for these (because of the battery concern) then what you said, 0% for 5 year payment plan are quite ample as a benefit to entice with a low downpayment scheme.

The "coding" exemption is not really a big deal since if you "can afford" an EV, you most likely already own a car or two already. The EV just becomes the main weekday commute car while the diesel/petrol power become weekend cars. =)

Di kaya iligtas ng Motolite express hatid 😛

I'm also curious how our climate will affect battery life. I suppose for city use it's a good option as most people travel <100km a day anyway.
