I try to rotate my tires regularly so that they will all need replacing at the same time. If I need to replace only 2, I put them up front, just personal preference. I find that they scrub in faster up front. But I drive as though it were a new car with brakes that haven't been broken in.

If I suspect I may have misalignment up front I put them in the rear.

I also rotate my tires so that they wear evenly and eventually I replace all 4 at the same time.

My Kumhos are now at 35,000 km travelled and I'll probably replace them in the next 2 months. Eyeing the GT SX2 or Yoko Advan V701 - I want something grippy, I need something that lasts long.

But on a tire blowout scenario, which is more survivable?
Blown front tire or back tire?

Front. You still have your steering to get the car back in control.

A rear blowout is prone to oversteer which most people don't know how to react to.

    I see, thanks.
Then new tires should always be on the rear.

    I disagree...

Kapag likod ma-flat, mas madali icontrol yung car.

Sa harap, biglang kakabig yung car sa direction ng flat tire.

    Wag ka lang biglang mag-brakes...

Thicker tires should be in the front if ever the tires are for replacement already.
