    Guys,

A taxi driver told me once to install a pilot jet on my carburetor to decrease my van's fuel-consumption. I'm interested but somehow skeptic, I would want to solicit the following info from you guys:

    1. how it works
    2. what are the real benefits
    3. negative effects
    4. how would i know if the mechanic is good in doing this
    5. estimate cost

Please guys, i really need your inputs. My dad has already decided to push through with it this coming weekend and I would want him see for himself first what experts has to say about it. Thanks

so it means the lesser the gas that flows in the jet .

the lesser the power the machine u have ....IMO

It entails changing the primary and/or secondary jets of the carb to smaller ones. It lessens fuel consumption but it will also affect performance and this may be dangerous in some cases (highway passing, climbing mountain roads, etc.) so better think it over pretty well beforehand.

What is a pilot jet?
