September 28th, 2006 02:34 PM #1Hi, I'm going to have my car tuned and I was wondering what are the fluids that I need to replace or prolly drained and put in a new one (Hyundai 2000 Sonata GLS M/T).
So far ito ang asa list ko:
- Engine Oil
- Brake Fluid
- Powersteering fluid
- Gear fluid
- Transaxle fluid
- clutch fluid
- coolant
- ATF fluid (pang-automatic lang ata ito so I guess I don't need this)
**I've read in other thread na pareho lang yun fluid sa iba sa taas pero I'm not sure though**

So far ito ang asa list ko:
- Engine Oil - check your manual for recommended rating and viscosity
- Brake Fluid - usually DOT 3 pero di ko alam if new cars now use DOT 4
- Powersteering fluid - ATF works but standard power steering fluid na rin
- Gear fluid - check your manual for recommended rating and viscosity
- Transaxle fluid - usually nasa CV boot yan and if it's not torn, don't worry
- clutch fluid - DOT 3 rin like brake fluid ang pagkakaalam ko
- coolant - if Hyundai makes their own coolant yon ang kunin mo. some will say Prestone works too.

wiper washer water level,i use 1 sachet sunsilk/head&shoulders as my degerear soap, bango pa!
50-50 ang coolant/water mix->recomended, upto 75%-coolant,25% water.
engine oil, 1 gal, pero usually 3.5L lang cap ng engine, ung .5 uwi mo!
gearoil, for m/t 2-3 liters yan. may sukatan yan. atf can be a replacement for powersteering fluids...
clutch and brake fluid are the same.
battery water pa! unless MF battery mo.

September 30th, 2006 02:40 PM #8Ito yun requirements according sa manual:
Transaxle fluid - API GL-4, SAE 75W/85W
Powersteering fluid - ATF Dexron 2
Any good fluids to go with the ones I stated above?

Basta reputable brand (kilala) and the specs of the particular fluids are exactly like you posted, you should be fine.
On the powersteering, some people put ATF, some put P/S fluid. Either way works basta malinis din siya. On some cars there are filters too, check them and replace if necessary.
You'll have a happy car after this.

October 1st, 2006 09:38 AM #10I'm leaning towards Motul products and here is their website ng available products sa atin.
http://www.motul.com.ph/main.html
Yun Autoplus ata sa may EDSA nagbebenta ng Motul products. Tanong ko lang is Dexron 3 lang meron nila and I need a Dexron 2 pwede kaya iflush yun tapos lagyan ng dexron 3?
Any commnets?
