temperature gauge problem

hey guys, i have a problem with the temperature gauge... IT DOESNT GO UP!! i mean it was perfectly fine nung ginamit ko kaninang umaga, pero nung hapon di ko napansin na hindi na umaakyat yung temp. gauge... nandun lang siya sa baba, naka-sandal dun sa parang maliit na notch..

whats the problem kaya? baka may natanggal na sensor sa engine or what??

ano car mo sir? yung temp gage lang ba ang hindi gumagana? does the speedometer and fuel gauges work when the engine is running? also. before starting (key to IGN) does all the check lights on your dash light up?

the car is a '89 lancer (el model, 1.3engine) yup allt he other intruments are working except for the temp gauge..is this an electrical problem or something..? dont really have a clue.

The problem might be coming from a faulty coolant temperature sensor. If you can do it by your self you can test if the gauge is working by locating the coolant temperature sensor. One wire lang yon alam ko. Malapit sa may cyl. head cguro yan. If you can locate it and are pretty sure that it is it, tanggalin mo sa connector tapos yung wire na papunta sa luob ng tsikot i-ground mo. Takbo ka sa loob ng oto para makita kung umangat yung gauge. Pag-umangat yon ibig sabihin faulty na ang sensor at kailangan na palitan. Estimate ko mga P 600.00 siguro ang price ng bagong sensor.

ahh ic..where should i get it checked? sa casa pa ba? you know how much they overcharge kasi eh...wala na yung favorite naming pinag-aayusan kasi eh...

Where are you from? Kasi kung dto ka sa may Las Pinas marami ako alam. Definitely not needed to have it checked sa casa. Try mo sa Servitek or gasoline station. Basic naman yung diagnosis and repair na gagawin dyan eh.

taga manila ako eh..pero kaya ba sa servitek? coz may malapit dito sa amin...i'll try to have them check it out..sana di ganun kalaki yung gastos

try to see baka nadisconnect lang din ang wire nito....the sensor is usually near the point where in the engine coolant (radiator) hose goes into (water pump). The purpose kasi is to measure the temp of the water getting into the engine. Minsan loose connection lang....although possible na busted na yung sensor mo kasi matanda na yung car.
