April 24th, 2010 09:41 PM #6I had a problem with my speedometer (not working, blinking D4 light). After researching here and in other fora, I became reasonably confident that this was a speed sensor problem. I asked a shop for a rough estimate and I was advised it may cost P8,500 up (brand new).
I went to Banaue and realized there are many surplus speed sensors for sale. Price ranging from P1,200 - P2,000. I went to MW Electrical (they also do mechanical works) and the replaced my speed sensor after testing it. It didnt take long maybe 15 minutes. The speedo now runs fine - I was driving the car on errands the whole afternoon.
MW Electrical Tel 4141519 - look for Fermin or Bigote, Total cost P1,300 (P1,200 for the sensor with installation, P100 tip to Fermin).
Hope this helps.
