You know, the odometer sensor is connected at the transmssion after the gears. It is designed to count the rotations of the shaft which drives the wheel and translates to the distance traveled. The reading takes into account the original size of the wheel (circumference). So, if you put a smaller wheel, the odometer indicates more than you really traveled (But you increased the torque at the wheels). Conversely, a bigger wheel results to under-registration.

larger tires means more distance traveled at the same rotation of the shafts/axles, vise versa for smaller tires/wheels.

sandali, ang tanong mo is bakit nagiiba ang reading ng speedometer? pano mo nalaman na nagiba nga?

hindi sya nagiiba, nagiging inaccurate lang. if you have large tire diameter than your stock tires, yung 100kph reading sa speedometer mo might translate into 105kph in actual speed.

ito po ay dahilan sa kapag ang isang gulong kapag lumaki, mas matagal o babagal complete ng isang revolution or ikot, gawa nang ang radius nito ay mas malaki. ganun din po kapag lumiit ang gulong. mas maliit ang radius kaya mas madali siyan maka-ikot, therefore, bibilis sya.

    related question..

is it possible to remove/disconnect the speedometer sensor para di paikutin and mileage/km reading (sa hindi digital)? (maybe for purposes of limiting the recorded miles travelled..). where is the sensor located?

    thanks!

the speedometer cable i connected to the transmission on most cars. usually car dealers remove this cable when they transit their brand new cars from the plant to their showrooms or from one showroom to the other, if, they don't use car carriers.

    encee,

Speedometer Reading?
