safari operating temp.

i have a 94 safari. what is the right operating temp.? saan dapat nakaturo ang needle, before half way? mine is 1/4. is this normal or too cold?

It depends on the weather, traffic, time situation. Engine temp varies from hot to cold, cruising to stuck in traffic.

Normal driving conditions nasa lower about 1/4 mark. Pag tanghali kahit cruising speed half or sometimes 3/4 mark.

i beg to disagree igan ungas. exceptions ung mga sinasabi mo. dapat 5-10 minutes lang normal operating temp na (usually sa middle). Masama ung laging 1/4 or laging 3/4. When stuck in traffic with full A/C at noon, oo pwedeng tumaas pero ung sabi mong normal driving condition na lower 1/4 mark, something is wrong dude. masama un.

ungas..i never reach the 3/4 mark even if the temperature outside is hot and traffic.

hanggang a little less than the half mark lang ako....

i reached the 3/4 mark nung sira ang water pump ko..

rst:thats my normal running temp.1/4 lang.pag umuulan tapos gabi..mas mababa pa nga sa 1/4...i think its different naman sa ibang cars.my galant's normal running temp is at the 1/2 mark.

sure ka glenn? I had mine 3 years ago and as i recall laging 1/2 ung sa akin. Baka naman walang thermostat safari di kaya?

I find it odd that the engine temp of a safari will be very variable. it is always best that the engine operates at a set (designed temp range)

yerf!!been with my baby for 6 years na...ganun talaga eh.unless mag offroad tapos mainit pa..tataas siya pero not more than the half mark.may thermostat naman po ito..cant remember a time when i had it removed.herhehrehr

local ba or imported safari niyo? pareho lang kami nina ungas...afrasay...col_drums as far as i know...around 1/4 ang normal temp...

local kaya lang 3 yrs ago benta di ko na actually alala ung operating temp. still find it odd na mag 1/2 lagi kung ang normal nya is 1/4.

hmm....mejo odd nga.but feeling ko ok lang naman yun wag lang mag more than 1/2.

nag 3/4 ako muntik na mag over heat nung hataw ako nang hataw...sira na pala water pump ko..lakas ng tagas tapos wala na tubig radiator.yun lang ang instance na tumaas talaga ako ng 3/4..katakot.

Tumaas yung temp readout ko since I re-geared diffs, my 5th gear doesn't act as an overdrive anymore, imagine my ride with 6 working gears. 3/4 mark is a norm lalo na kung tanghaling tapat 120kph * 5th gear. Bumababa naman ulit sa 1
1/3 mark after slowing down.

My normal city driving with traffic included is in 1/4 or sometimes 1/3 mark. Thermostat still intact and engine in perfect condition. Compared my ride with other Patrollers my temp usually sits a notch above them.

Yun sakin a notch above 1/4 din. Pero last summer yun sobrang init 1/2 siya pirme kahit hindi traffic. Yun kay ungas kasi may winch and "flood" lights ;) which could be blocking airflow to the radiator.

salamat sa discussions nyo. i learned a lot. my temp is always about 1/4 unless hinahataw ko ng 120 to160. tumataas but not more than 1/2.i guess this is normal
