December 17th, 2005 02:37 PM #1My manual says SAE 10W-30 must be my engine oil for my corolla..
whats the difference w/ the two? I can't SAE-30 at the autoshop.
manual says for better fuel econmy and engine performance use only the required type of engine OIL.

5w 40 is fully synthetic I think. Honestly, I can't notice the difference sa takbo pag naglagay ako ng semi or fully synthetic oil, pareho lang ang feel same sa fuel economy.

December 18th, 2005 02:00 AM #3You can use either of them, 10-30W is just multi grade oil which means that its not that thick (malapot) when you start initially, while the single grade is always at 30W even in the cold morning start up. If you religiouly change your oil when its prescribed time/mileage to change, stay with dino oil and save money, but if you a lot of money to burn, always on the move and with a lead foot (arangkada), synthetic will be better for your engine.
IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
