    Mga Gurus need po nang advice. Sabi ng casa last pms nung City Lxi '98 A/T namin need to replace na daw the following parts dahil may minimal na leak na daw.

    Oil pan gasket 1,500
    D/shaft oil seal (front) 2,000
    Oil pump o-ring 3,000
    wheel cylinder brakes cap only on rear 2,023/wheel

    Do you see oil leaks? Say you park your car overnight do you see oil drops on the floor the next morning? If you don't then your gaskets should be fine.

    Of course getting a 2nd opinon won't hurt. Bring it to a gas station and have them lift the car. Ask the mechanic to check the gaskets and seals.

    Wow, ang mahal pala ng wheel cups ng preno ng Honda. Parang presyong pang-truck na iyan.

    Yan kasi ang mahirap sa casa, hindi naman nila pinakita sa iyo. Basta they hand over a piece of paper telling you to replace this and that.

    Best to get a 2nd opinion. Yung wheel cups kapag sira, may tagas ng brake fluid or nagiging stuck up yung brakes. Nung nagloko yung ganun ng Vitara talagang dinemo sa akin ng Suzuki tech yung problem using the other side for comparison.

    Yung ibang seals mo baka nagpapawis lang ng langis at hindi naman full blown leak regarding urgent measures. The oil pan gasket is easy enough to see. Just lie down underneath vehicle and look at oil pan (it's the lowest portion of the engine where the oil drain bolt is). Where the pan joins the engine is where you'll find the oil pan gasket. May leak nga ba?

    I agree, get a second opinion from gas stations, it costs nothing but your time. In fact it is better not to tell them just have them check the underside for you.

    Personally, I feel that the casa causes these problems some of the time. Or the leak they site could have been caused by them. Point in case, before I sent my dad's civic to the casa there was no oil leaking. When I reclaimed the vehicle sabi nila may oil leaks all over the engine. When I parked the car in the garage overnight there was a lot of oil when there was none for the past two months with me. It could also be that they opened up the engine and when they put it all back they dint take care or dint seal it back up. I apologize if I seem to be accusing or suspicious but its just odd.

    To be fair, perhaps there were some leaks before and the newer oil and their engine flush may have seeped through, but what are the odds of that when there have never been any oil leaks since it belonged to my dad?

    Mga Sir's nagpa second opinion na po kami sa gasoline station, sabi ng mechanic very minimal lang daw yung leak and hanggang 2 years pa itatagal nung gasket. Useless din daw na papalitan ngayon kasi babalik din daw ang leak dahil yun daw ang sakit ng city. Kung hindi naman daw kami naglalagay ng 1 liter of oil every month ok pa daw po iyon.

    * Sir LoBudget
    Medyo na experience na rin namin yan sa casa kaya lang di kami sure, kasi once kakalabas lang ng casa nung car after 3 days nagoverheat kasi yung breather hose sumingaw. Yun yung unang gamit namin kaya di namin sure kung talagang bumigay na sya, pagbalik sa casa ang bill namin 800+ (600 labor, 70 hose). Two years pa lang yung city sabi nila sira daw yung compressor 30,000-40,000K daw brand new eh ang lamig pa nung air-con. Sabi ko hayaan muna na bumigay bago palitan, After two years pina cleaning namin sa labas sabi ng mech wala naman daw tama yung compressor. Hanggang ngayon okay pa yung compressor namin.

    Thank You very much po sa lahat ng nagreply... More Power...

To Replace? or Not To Replace...
