Remove catalytic converter replace with resonator

Meron akong Kia Picanto 2005 A/T nagpapalit ako ng muffler sa mufflerland kasi butas na stock muffler ko. Magnaflow muffler napili ko para may tunog kaya lang nung linagay siya sa Picanto ko walang tunog so sabi nung taga mufflerland tanggalin daw catalytic converter ko. So pinatanggal ko na tapos pinalitan nila ng pipe... Medyo lumakas hatak niya kaya lang sobrang lakas sa gas pati bumaho labas ng usok niya. Plano ko sana lagyan ng resonator para mawala yung amoy pero hindi ko pa alam pano babalik sa dati fuel consumption ko. :| Any idea?

generic naman ang catalytic converter eh kaya nothing to worry kung anung brand pa yan or kahit second hand as long as transparent pa xa saka depende kung ilang sensor ang nakalagay jan. kase iba't iba ang mga emission standards ang ginagamit ng mga manufacturers. May dalawang Ox sensor at may isa lang. Kung dalawa ang Ox nyan, for sure mag iistored ng trouble code yan sa ECU kase walang feedback sensor eh. Lalakas ang consumption nyan kase nag gain ng extra power eh. At kaya naman lumakas ang power nyan, nabawasan ang resistance ng pag labas ng usok. pero ang sama ng effect nyan sa atin. Kaya the best talga malagyan ulit ng catalytic converter yan.

nakatanim ba sa catalytic converter yung oxygen sensor mo? if nakatanim dito and sabay na inalis then you'll really have problem with your fuel consumption coz the engine will run on "open loop" only and hindi na mag close loop para ma adjust ng pcm ang fueltrim.

...Mufflerland at T. Morato? Had a bad experience there last summer. They replaced my resonator and the exhaust note sounded 'lata'. The Fat guy there insisted it was a leak in the manifold.

Went to Nodalos at E. Rod and they told me that the replacement resonator did not have fibreglass insulation.

Binalik ko uli sa Mufflerland at pinalitan uli. 'Fat Guy' heard a mouthful from me.

alam ko binibili ng mahal ang mga used cat converters ,lalo na sa international markets .
