I always go by mileage. Medyo malayo kasi yung biyahe ko daily (34 kms. one way), so I manage to rack up quite a few thousand kilometers in a relatively short span of time.
it's a little of both. no hard and fast rule naman. i.e. one of the things that you should have replaced at 40k kms is the fuel filter, pero at 2 years and 20k kms dapat di pa naman barado yun. so mix and match what you have done siguro.
itong fortuner ko ay 7 months old na at ang last service ay nung 1000 kms.tanong ko lang po kung dapat na bang ipa service for 5000kms kahit na ang kasalukuyang mileage ay 3900kms palang. every other day po syang wina warmup. pls give ur advise. thank you po.
it could also be called preventive maintenace kung lagi kang maaga magpachange oil (mga 4500kms) which is much cheaper in the long run, dahil bababa ang chance na maging sakit ng ulo yung sasakyan mo.
I do it by odometer reading, not by months. No problems on my end. In my experience, the PMS schedules are very, very conservative.
I run 10,000 km in roughly 10 months, so my service stops occur every so often instead of every 6 months.
Both my rides were Hondas. Since you're paying a premium for their engineering, this can be considered an impromptu test of their claim. So far they've put their money where their mouth is.
