car stops when stereo is on

it happened last night. my ride suddenly stops when i turn on the stereo. seems there is an electrical problem. what could be the reason? ride is a toyota corolla gli 96 a/t. thanks!:confused:

Naka sound set-up kaba? headlight on? aircon on?

if yes on all of the above, my diagnosis is either your alternator is not charging sufficiently or you need to change to a bigger battery.

d naman setup ung sounds. actually m using the stock Alpine casette receiver. Actually di naman agad namamatay ung engine pag on ng stereo. it will take a few minutes before mamatay ung engine. Kaka-change lang ng battery ko Motolite MF and kaka-check lang ng charging system ko sa casa last month.

m running when the engine stops. how can i check if the electricals are grounded? pina-check ko kanina sa motolite kung ok pa ung battery, they said di raw gumagana ng maayos ung alternator. i brought it to an auto shop, sabi ng mechanic ok naman daw alternator. thanks.

baka nga grounded ung electrical system mo. Look up the fuses kung may busted.check the wires for anything out of the ordinary. discoloration or ung tunaw na wire.have it checked up by a good car electrician.

buti stop lang, minsan sakay ko erpats ko nagpasak ba naman ng tape nya na ballroom. eh nung cha-cha na yung music, umatras kotse ko!

i think tama yung sabi ng battery shop, patay na alternator mo. so you're just running on your battery kaya pag on mo ng ibang load, drained na sya.

dalhin mo sa auto eletrical. ang alam ko magaling sa ganyan eh sa Wizzards Tomas Morato near E. Rodriguez. pero kung mukhang di ka makakarating dun kakapatay, sa pinaka-malapit nalang. mahirap yang ganyan sa daa, mahihiya ka kasi nakaka-abala ka pag namamatay.

just an update on this mga pare. ok na auto ko, the culprit pala is the alternator belt. buti na lang di agad ako nagpalit ng alternator, i brought my ride to several shops then i tried carzone in banaue. they just replaced my alternator belt tapos sinabay ko na rin yung timing belt ko since 80k na mileage ko. ok na ngayon, di na humihinto.
