you said "walang spark"...is this a typo? if you were refering to ayaw mag-redondo ang starter and couldn't hear even the clicking sound of the starter solenoid then the possible nga ng wiring connections (as per ungas).

Kung meron click na sound pero ayaw mag-redondo ang starter, possible na starter solenoid. Merong copper plate sa loob ng solenoid which gets eaten up by the sparking electricity inside the solenoid whenever you start, so old engines will usually have this solenoid problem. Kung magaling ang electrician, they can replace or repair this at a minimal cost P350-800....depende kung taga maningil ang kausap mo. Paying 1K is like getting a surplus starter na ng maliit na kotse, so don't go kung ganito ang quote sa iyo.

A faulty starter motor brush would also have some similar symptoms ng sinabi mo.... new brush is just about P50-75/pair...installation around P100-150 depende kung mahirap kalasin ang starter motor mo.

Kung more than 5years old na oto mo, have it checked.

The battery won't drain itself within an hour after charging it from your alternator. As you have said, there were still lights and horn when you swtiched it on position.

But, there is a possibility that one of the holes from your battery may have reached its end life cycle.

I tired Outlast brand before and it lasted a year and a half. I'm not quite sure about its price though.
