just checked the '02 CR-V owner's manual and came across this old thread while searching. the thickest grade in the chart is 15W-40.
puro *W-40, *W-30, at *W-20 ang mga grades na nasa chart, mukhang hindi recommended ang 50-weight.

I'm currently using mobil1 5w-50 for my escape.. Recommended oil weights are 5w-20 and 5w-30. Don't have any problems though.
Will try to shift to Royal Purple 5w-30.. main reason.. its cheaper!

April 13th, 2008 04:58 AM #135w50 is way too thick for a gen 2 crv. the k20's like a 5w30, 10w30 or the thickest should be a 10w40.
kiper, you find that the engine responds so much better with the correct viscosity oil. you'll also get much better fuel economy.
Choice I would have made as well.:nod:
