oil and oil filters may be expensive, but still cheaper than an overhaul. so change the oil and filter regularly as indicated in the maintenance manual.

some people might disagree ... but i would avoid engine wash

today's cars have so many electrical connections subject to corrosion if the engine is washed too often carelessly. corrosion is usually the culprit for intermittent electrical/engine problems and can be very difficult to troubleshoot, resulting to costly repairs, e.g., replacing parts unnecessarily. if you ever need to have the engine washed, locate/identify critical connections and make sure the mechanic provides some cover as protection from water.

Weekly dusting of your engine bay would be good. And if you decide to wash, light washing ok na... except if its soiled. One more tip check you tires pressure at least once a week and of course take care of your cars paint para palaging shinny hehehe

ideal din ba na lagyan ng corrosion indicator(Senson) ang sasakyan para din ma monitor ang amount of corrosion?meron kasi kami dito sa work site which we used sa mga electrical panels.

Transmission maintenance, change ATF or gear oil every 40,000 kms.

question po, yung sa new honda models ... every 6 months or 10tkm yung check up, whichever comes first. i brought in my bulilit car as scheduled 6 months, but 6tkm pa lang. at least 2 people said i should have not done that until 10tkm kasi city driving lang naman daw ako. di ba ma-void warranty ng mga kotse nila if they did not bring it in per schedule (not yet 10tkm mileage)? thanks, dati kasi madali every 5tkm yung auto ko.

It wouldn't hurt your engine if you changed sooner than later... If you do mostly city driving which is stop and go, then you should change sooner. You can have it done at your local gasoline station every other 5K and in the casa on every 10T km. Don't skimp on this your engine will be happy.

Kung whichever comes first , then every 6 months pa check up mo na, para nga walang lusot ang casa kung sakaling magkaroon ng problem. mas puwersado nga sa kotse ang city driving, kaya huwag kang manghinayang na di pa umaabot sa 10t km. ang check up sked mo.

thanks for the tip. yeah, i plan to stick to the schedule until warranty period. per experience on my last honda, 6 years na very good condition pa kasi di ako nagtipid ... i always have precious "cargo" on board ... family, friends, love ones, pets ... non-negotiable.

for my 2 friends, di ma ma-void warranty nila?

You should change your oil earlier if you primarily drive in the city....stop-and-go driving is worse than highway driving.....also....when you are stuck in traffic, your engine still runs (but your odometer doesn't).....imagine your car sitting at idle most of the time, your oil is still working and so does your pistons (just like when its running)......

Here in the US, they recommend 3,000 miles or 3 months whichever comes first....

Follow the maintenance requirement in the manual. In the long run it would add to the resale value of your car.

It depends on the Motor Oil your gonna be using, it can range from 900++ to 3000++. If possible use OEM oil filters.

ako i agree with you. ako, i am using my car already for almost four years, isang beses ko pa lang napapa engine wash. mostly puro brush brush lang yung mga alikabok.

nakakatakot kasi baka pagkatapos mag wash eh magbago na ang takbo. o at worst, baka hindi na tumakbo.
