    Hi All!

My mother somehow managed to break her car keys off at the driver's side door.

The weird thing is, and this is a good thing, she was still able to start the vehicle and drive home.

She now leaves the vehicle at home until the problem has been remedied.

Any suggestions on how we can get the front part out of the door lock?

There is no other key for the vehicle so we'll need to use the two halves to make a new one.

All your inputs and suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

By the way, the vehcle is an imported Toyota Cressida if it helps.

    :regards:

Di ko pa na experience yan pero kung ako gawin ko spray ko ng penetranting oil yung keyhole ( wd40 or the likes) para lumuwag yung susi na naiwan then wait for a few hrs, punasan mo yung exposed part ng key then used an old key na hindi na ginagamit patakan mo ng mighty bond/ loctite idikit mo sa exposed part ng key, wait mo matuyo then try mo hilahin,

Take the whole lock mechanism out of the car and do it on the bench top. Masmadali, kasi kung lalo ma stuck yun rin gagawin mo. Kung di mo makuha, you can take it to a locksmith (yung lock mechanism) and have him make you a duplicate key (with the proper key blank).

Only other way is to go to your Toyota dealer and have them cut you a brand new key, just give the VIN (not sure if this service is available dyan, pero dito ganun pwede). Provide your car's registration papers of course...

    Hi All!

That's the weird thing I mentioned.

When she was trying to fit the key into the ignition, she was wondering why it took longer than usual for the key to fine home.

When she looked at the key, that's when she saw that it was cut.

She tried the key anyway and luckily, it started.

Will try your suggestions out and see what happens.

As for the dealer, we'll have to wait and see about that since it was an imported unit.

    :regards:
