what could be the problem with my ride?
ito napapansin ko..car is running perfectly fine when the gas tank have say more than 2 liters of gas.
but once gas level indicator 'nears' the warning line (empty warning light not yet on), it suddenly decelerates (but it does not totally stop), even if youre pressing on the accelaration pedal. this would last for a few seconds only then it would run smoothly again.
cycle continous until your next visit to the gas station.
the fuel pump has been replaced (oem) lately.
what could be possible causes related to these symtoms?
    ride is 92 nissan SS.
    TIA!

dirty fuel tank might be the cause. The dirt might be clogging the fuel pickup inside the fuel tank.

Solution would be to have the fuel tank flushed and cleaned.

maybe bec. the sediments and dirt are at the bottom of the fuel tank, also since the fuel is low, maybe the fuel pump works harder to get fuel...

its because the dirt is "floating" near the bottom of the fuel tank. And since the fuel pick-up would be near the surface, the only time it will be floating in the dirty fuel is when the fuel level is low.

next question is, san ba ito pwede ipalinis? at magkano usually ang labor charge?
is flushing/draining of fuel tank part of preventive maintenance checklist? kasi i have not done this before. ngayon plang kung sakasakali.
fuel pump was replaced less than 6 months ago.

Usually mga 1K, almost all gas stations na malaki-laki does this... Si Migs (speedyfix) offers this as well.

the problem is not how much... its how long. It would take half a day or longer (to take down the fuel tank, clean it and re-install it) depending on where you are going to have it done.

suggestion lang, ipa-drain mo muna fuel tank to see if the gasoline inside is indeed dirty.
