gud morning guys. i usually do short trips (less than 5 km), city driving. tanong ko lang kung anong mas bagay na plug?
does our hot and humid climate prefer hot or cold spark plugs?

hmmm, pag ako bumibili ng plugs binibili ko yung nasa 6 or 7 na heat range... cold plugs hinahanap ko. pero basically i just follow the recommendations in the car manual for hot climates.

eto yung gamit ko: Denso KJ20CR-L11 (equivalent to NGK ZFR6F-11)

For hot climates eto recommended: ZFR7F-11 or KJ22CR-L11
For cold climates: ZFR5F-11 or KJ16CR-L11

(For Honda Accord pala itong gamit ko)

what is the effect of "cold" or "hot" plugs? any effects on performance? my manual recommends BKR6E but then it also recommends the use of 0W30 oil... :P

BAsed on the plugs choices mentioned, it's for a Civic it seems.

Given the short distances, stick with the "hot" 5E's instead (cebu city is pretty much stop and go driving with short distances). But if you experience any detonation, switch to the 6E's.

The cold and hot plug type refers to the optimal operating temperature range of the sparkplug. The higher the heat range, the plug will burn better under higher temps (high rpm, high speed, long engine operation, hot weather, etc.). CMIIW

Speedyfix, what would the difference be between plugs with the "-11" suffix oer those without the "-11"? (i.e. BKRE6E-11 vs. BKR65E).

i think "11" is the gap size between the electrode that is preset by the manufacturer. i think lng hehehehe

for the 323, you either have the option of using the bkr5e (hot) or bkr6e (cold).

basically, the 5 is more suitable for city driving (lower temperature / engine speed). while the 6 is for higher temperature / engine speed.

colder plugs (the 6) will give you a better fuel economy - though it has a higher tendecy to foul up (if you don't 'exercise' your engine often).
