    It's best to stay with the manufacturer's recommended oil grade.

    On the other hand, it might even be beneficial to use thicker oil on older engines to compensate for the increased parts clearances, and minimize engine noise and enhance compression at the same time.

    Oil change 5,000 KMS or 6 months which ever comes first regardless of the oil that you are using.

    On older cars, it is better to use thicker oils. Thickest grade available here are shell and castrol RS for synthetics. in the US, there are thicker grade synthetic oils recommended for high mileage engines.

    yes, high mileage cars have bigger clearances on the ring-cylinder wall, and valve stem-valve guide areas which could cause leaks to the combustion chambers that resulting carbon build-up in that area.

    use the thicker grade if you want synthetics or better yet, use the dino (mineral) oil and just replace frequently.
