Sirs, here I am again...faced with another observation and seeking for your expert opinions...Is it normal for our rides not to reach its normal working temperature during night time or early morning driving? In my case, normal temperature is somewhere halfway on the dashboard panel. Kase napapansin ko na pag d umabot dun sa usual halfway temp. nya, iba ang tunog ng engine...parang bang magalas? that's the closest to how i can describe it pero pag daytime naman, smooth naman ang tunog...i really don't know if its just me or if something's not right. by the way, temp. at night is around 1/4 on the panel pero pag natraffic it reaches the normal level naman pero pag go na, bumababa na ulit! sana naintindihan nyo! lastly, idling is just the same... around 1.1k rpm

those with isuzu rides, ganito ren ba ang rig nyo? mine's using the 4jb1t.

    thanks!

Is your thermostat functioning well (does the engine still have the thermostat?)? It could be possible that it's not regulating the engine temperature efficiently anymore.

defective temp sensor, thermostat stuck in the open position most probably..just a guess.

san po ba nakikita ang thermostat? anyways, maybe that's the culprit...ill have it checked asap.

pero vinj, when i start it up in the a.m., pag iniwan ko naman ng mga 10-15 mins idle, tumataas naman.

honga, medyo abno yan. ke tag-ulan, gabi o mainit ang sikat ng araw, dapat consistent ang temperature.

so it doesn't have something to do with the engine's temp? wala ren naman kseng history of overheating kya ayoko ipagalaw and pag daytime, normal naman sha...

Mejo OT: do coolants really help? since napag uusapan ang temp. i don't use it kse. sabi ng mekanik ko ok daw ang coolant para d ren kalawangin yung radiator. is there any disadvantage?

yes, since it is not water, it has a higher boiling point compared to H20. kakalawangin? afaik, may anti-rust properties pa nga ang coolants eh. but of course, you have to follow the recommended mixture of coolant and H20 that should be put in your radiator.
