Mga tsikot gurus, ano po ba ang proper timing ng toyota corolla 2e engine, 1.3ltr?

Dalawa kasi ang suki kong mekaniko, sabi nung isa dapat 20deg,
sabi naman nung isa ay hangang 12 deg, lang... which of them is right?

And the timing setting is it really calibrated in degrees?

    salamat po mga peeps... :-)

just joined. just saw your query... Rev it to 2000 RPM-timing should show O deg at this point when checked with light.
Advance it a bit if you want slightly quicker resp. for city, "pulling out of the corner" type driving. Retard it a bit if you want better performance at higher RPM's. Hope I was able to help.

ignition timing is set to 12 degrees before top dead center, engine at idle speed around 750-800 rpm, engine fully warmed up, terminals TE1 and E1 of the DIAGNOSTIC connector jumpered, air conditioner off, headlights off
