Hi guys, I'm new here. New also to the world of vintage cars. hehe. Anyone selling a camaro or fastback mustang?
Am currently considering buying a 60's Chevy Corvair. As is where is unfortunately. Is it tough finding parts here? The body's alright, but the engine is rusted. I've been consulting vintage car enthusiasts and they told me it could still be revived. Couldn't see the chassis though since the whole underside of the car is covered in rusted metal.
I have several options:
a. restore the car's original engine and parts
b. just use the body and replace everthing with an engine and parts that are easier to find and maintain
c. not buy it at all and look for a mustang instead. hehe
Any advice would be well appreciated. :p
You'll have to put things in layman's terms though. I'm just a girl who loves cars but doesn't know enough about them yet. :p
Hope to hear from you guys. Thanks!

Corvairs are under rated yet very interesting cars. 2 door or 4 door?

January 25th, 2008 03:16 PM #64Hey guys, my ride is not a muscle car but a classic American nonetheless. DODGE COLT '73--lancer's predecessor.
1.6L Saturn Engine black. Nirestore ko kasi sayang naman kakatayin na..hehe
Kung makikita nyo now, malayo sa dati nyang porma.
I'll post here sometime yung pics and development nung pagrestore.
For the meantime, is there anyone here who owns/owned a dodge colt? Share your ideas naman about this small classic car and some tips para mas pagandahin.

Thanks for the reply
Sadly, we had to drop the Corvair project. The guy who was supposed to restore the car heard about the same car we were supposed to buy. It has apparently changed hands several times because no one could restore it. Let me know if you're interested. It's a 2 door convertible. That baby needs someone VERY COMMITTED to restoring it and I'd love to see it restored
We're buying a 1st gen Celica (looks like I'm in the wrong thread na. hehe). But let me know if you know of an affordable camaro for our next project
Anything important I need to know about 1st gen Celicas (besides the fact that it consumes ALOT of gas). hehe
