Currently owns a 1st and 2nd gen Odys.

    Try mo to:
    Honda Odyssey Club

    Nandyan ako lagi.

Problem areas ng 2nd gen Odyssey:
    Transmission
    Power Doors

Di na kasi kami kasya sa CR-V (family of 5 with 2 car seats). My everyday car to work is the Gen 1 Ody. 4-banger kaya OK sa mileage. Parang wagon lang. Umuuso nga ang mga wagons ngayon as alternative to the less-glamorous minivans. Power is adequate pero sabi nila kapos daw. I spent $700 to replace the door and switch latches Yung 2nd gen Ody ko, pang long driving. Although mas sporty i-drive yung 1st gen, mas komportable naman for long driving yung 2nd gen. I usually get up to 28mpg on hiway drives.

Plano ko ding bumili ng 3rg gen Odyssey 5 years from now, hehehe.

    macky,
i believe nag usap na tayo before or we exchanged emails nung bago ako umalis for the US.

matagal na ako sa odylcub forums, in fact most of my buying decisions came from that site pero syempre umiral pa rin yung budget so we might end up with an 01 EX from a private seller. still very clean and only 35K miles.

May mga posts dun about '01 and '02 Odys from ebay. There are som '02 Ody EXL na may DVD/NAV on ebays which sells for as low as $15.9K Tyagaan nga lang sa kababantay. Yung iba as long as 3 months nagbabantay sa ebay About dun sa power door problems ko.... nag-reply yung dealer sa email ko about dun sa pag-charge nila sa akin ng $700. I attached yung link dun sa solution sa Odyclub. Di daw yun basta fuse lang, hehehe pero he told me na he will try to give me a refund (hopefully). So far OK naman mga experiences ko sa mga kasa (except for the power door problem na inaasikaso naman ng Honda para ma-satisfy ako). I've owned 5 Honda cars both currently and previously and base on experience basta religious ka lang sa maintenance, di sila nasisira basta-basta.

This weekend siguro, baka magka-time (if my kids allow it,hehehe). Keep us posted na lang and goodluck sa pag hunting mo!

I could relate with you guys, kami nga tatatlo pero pag nag weekend kami out of state punong puno yung likod ng gamit, kaya lang hindi ko talaga maimagine sarili ko in a minivan, siguro 3rd car ko na lng yan, pang pamilya lang.

    anyways goodluck on your search.

    macky,
tumingin na rin ako sa ebay before finally deciding to get this privately owned 01 EX which was like only 5 minutes from where I live. it took me a year before finally deciding to get one. I have gone to all the dealerships here and sadly nothing could compare to the one we are getting. We set our sights on low mileage cars then yung year and model.....madami nga sana mga 02's pero they were not maintained properly and the price was still toohigh for us as we were trying to work in a budget.

Bottomline is it's still a Honda Odyssey.......

yung 01 na kukunin ko pala has only 35K miles which is roughly 8 to 10K miles a year lang, which is below the normal of 15K a year. carpet has no stains, plastic trims has very little or no scratches at all. no dings or scratches sa paint.all records intact even service from the dealers. maganda pa, he even showed me mpg records which showed 16 to 18 city and 23 to 27 highway.
