February 18th, 2003 06:57 PM #23Boybi,
Does the new patrol use common rail injection? If so, it may require a thinner engine oil to pressurize the injection system- just like the 3.0TD trooper.
When you start it cold, the oil is too thick to immediately enter the high pressure rail but once warmed up, it thins out so you get constant fuel flow.
What oil do you use on the engine? What does the manual recommend?
Just thinking aloud.

boybi!!!!
feeling ko...sakit talaga ng patrol yan...
kasi ung safari naman...laging nagl-light ung orange thing na indicator sa fuel filter pag first start sa umaga...and the engine is parang "pupugak-pugak"...pero hindi naman namamatay....
but pag mainit na...and when i stepped on the accelerator....nawawala ung light sa indicator...and nagiging mas smooth ung idling....
nga pala...everytime na magpapalit ako ng fuel filter...daming tubig....and bi-ni-bleed nga pala un....

boybi: What you're experiencing might be the injector defect of the ZD30. As far as I know, Nissan Bacolod has reported 16 Nissan Patrols with problems similar to yours. One more thing, the ZD30 is direct injection only.

based on your symptoms it seems that there is air in your fuel line, this one of the reasons why when you start it up it will die unless you step on the accelerator, check the check valves on the filters. it will dissappear when the engine is hot because the air is already gone in the lines. i guess it happens when you leave it overnight and will be worse if you leave two days or more. i also experienced this on my isuzu.

They'll charge you for new ones. Tapos sasbihin na dapat orig kakabit mo sa susunod.

hindi ba pareho filters ng TD42 sa ZD30? pero bago ko pinakabit kinompare ko naman both filters and pareho naman mga butas.
