September 15th, 2009 04:03 PM #1Hi po,
My car's sounds like it's running on a diesel engine. Very noticeable when the car is idle. Parang Volkswagen din ang tunog... ano po kaya problema nito? Sa muffler ba? Sa exhaust pipes? My car is Sentra ECCS 1992 AT.. mileage is almost 120K...
Thanks po.

I think there is a big hole in your exhaust pipe. Bring it to a muffler shop to be checked and fixed.

September 23rd, 2009 02:31 PM #5I experienced the same problem on my Sentra B13, tunog diesel engine na talaga lalo na kung early morning cold start. Mawala lang sya kung nakapag circulate na ng mabuti ang engine oil. If the tunog diesel engine will not stop even after a short trip or at operating engine temperature, it is also good to check inside your valve cover baka barado na ang rectangular na daanan ng engine oil sa may harapan. Just have some silicone rtv before opening your valve cover so you can replace it back of have a good mechanic check that area for you.
A good lubricant will help your engine para mawala ang diesel na tunog. I can recommend Pertua engine oil (Apex) as your base oil at mas mura pa ito (found in any Robinsons Handyman). If you want to treat your engine oil and engine, NewOil is very effective for this type of problem. I recommend these products for they worked well on my engne and on other engines (hundreds of them sa shop ng friend ko).
