    Hi All!

Does it really give a smoother ride? How durable is it naman? Kung somehow masira e is it something that any car shop can fix, or kelangang casa talaga?

Saw the demo on Nissan's website...pretty cool. Basically it keeps your wheel in full contact with the road, at any awkward angle

MLB is just a fancy way of saying that it has a live axle (like a Pajero or Patrol) instead of an independent rear suspension. Nissan just improved on the concept and used a clever way to mount the axle. It is in fact simpler than the suspensions of most other cars in the compact class.

The main advantage of this set-up is that it costs less and consumes less space (which is instead used for a larger trunk and back seat). The only gripe I have about it is the short suspension stroke. It has a tendency to bottom out (my brother drives a Sentra) when driven hard. Durability wise, we have not have any problem with it since we go his car two years ago.

Yup, tama si master Otep. Actually, lahat ng kotse dati naka solid axle sa likod. during the early 90's manufacturers sought to have their compacts handle like sports cars, so nauso yung independent suspension. The reason why the solid beam is making a comeback is because it costs way way less to produce than an IRS setup.

Smoother ride? IMHO, not really but the multi-link suspension is cheaper and has less parts than the previous independent rear suspension used in the Sentra series 2.

Repair.. yup, any competent car shop can fix typical wear & tear damage.

As for keeping your (rear) wheels in full contact with the road, it assumes the road is level and in a single plane all the time. Good for city roads and maximizes control of the rear end in emergency events (terminal understeer).

another advantage of nissan's MLB suspension is that the rear wheels doesn't need alignment anymore.

for cars mas ok siguro Independent suspension... try running that car with a non Independent suspension in washboard like roads and you'll see the difference of Independent suspensions
