    im davao-based now. surplus engines are bit cheaper here compared to banawe or evangelista. but im sure, you can find it in either banawe or evangelista. try mo rin sa blumentritt. mas mura ang diesel engines doon, as experienced. as for the price range, guesstimate ko lang is within 25k-35k. canvass mo lang sir. by the way, dont forget the tranny that will match the engine you will buy. if you will go for d4bx, hyundai and mitsu tranny is the perfect match. pag rf kunin mo, yong sa ford ranger at kia sportage ang perfect match dyan. hope this helps..

    Nissan's TD27 ends up being the most suitable option for a Vanette, compact enought to fit, with reasonable power and torque ratios and a good durability under harsh conditions...

    Maybe a Toyota 2C could also be considered...
