Unless and until the government activates the tax breaks for alternative fuel vehicles... fat chance.
The Leaf would likely cost around 2.5 to 3m if imported under the current tax regime. Who's going to buy a Jazz-sized non-luxury hatchback for that much money?

Aquino is supporting the 'electric vehicle program' for our roads to lessen pollution especially in Metro Manila so he should have acted now while he is still in power. Therefore with proper government support which is giving tax incentives, I guess this is attainable. I just wish that if ever I buy another vehicle someday, it would be electric and cheap. An electric car paired with home solar power would be perfect.
