LPG conversion is not often endorsed nor recommended by car manufacturing companies. Based on my conversations with various taxi owners and operators, LPG may be the cheaper fuel, but there are also a lot of repairs and maintenance costs invloved. In the long run, it may be more costly to switch to, or at least have the LPG option.

April 21st, 2010 12:52 PM #2813fellow glovers - sa mga friends natin na nakakamoy din ng usok inside the cabin, here's where PART of the problem is
I opened up the grill (yung sa ilalim ng passenger-side wiper) and look at the firewall
There's a squarish hole, about the size of a cassette tape that has no covering/filter whatsoever. I think this is a big part of the problem why outside fumes/pollution can be smelled inside the cabin.
To remedy this temporarily, I stuck duct tape to cover the hole entirely (medyo mahirap lang pag malaki kamay mo maliit kasi yung butas ng grill) but it can be done.
Ever since I put duct tape, nabawasan yung amoy sa cabin a lot. But I'm guessing this is still just part of the problem with our Livina, kasi meron pa rin ako naamoy pag nasa likod ako ng tricycle, since mausok yung mga yun, amoy pa rin sa loob ng cabin.
I still need to find some time to bring my unit to the casa to have it checked, but in the meantime, this temporary solution will have to do I guess.
Kainis that we have to deal with these little issues. Does anybody have a contact of the VP of Nissan? I'd like to write to him and raise this concern as having smoke inside the cabin is not acceptable for a brand new vehicle

April 21st, 2010 11:53 PM #2814Hello there, you may also want to check on the left side of that firewall, there is another openning/hole there, on our GL, I covered that part with duct tapes as well. I will have nissan do a permanent fix by checking on the flaps dun sa recirculation switch sometime this month or as soon as the parts from nissan westgate becomes available. By the way, nabangga kse si GL last Feb, side swept si mrs ng isang inaantok at wala sa sarili yung isang kotse, damage to our GL's right rear door all the way to the rear bumper and right side tail light. pati mags tinamaan din. One thing though, matigas pala kaha ng GL natin, the other cars headlight and right side front bumper is a mess. si GL may bahid ng gasgas at pintura nung isang kotse at maliit na crack yung tail light, our insurance is happy to replace the right rear door, right tail light and the right rear mags plus repair paint on the sidewall and bumper.
Now we are just waiting for the ordered parts to be available.

Hi Guys! my GL just completed the 25K PMS. Kabaligtaran naman ng case presented (smoke, seeping through our GLs), when driving in tagaytay (during cold weather, especially at a night/dawn), I tend to open he vent to get fresh air through our airducts. in my other car, air from ourside goes through the vent at parang may blower ka...when I do this sa GL, there is hardly any 'air' coming in...natural ba ito?
Isa pa, I noticed since Feb 2010, humina ang buga ng aircon ng GL ko. palagi tuloy nakaset yung fan speed sa no 2...I consulted the Nissan techs, and they said it will take 2 days to check and probably repair!grabe tagal naman...I will try to get my GL through this routine and see it wrks. i want it back to the original state where at no1, solve na kami!

ah ok ganon po ba, thanks sir, I didn't know there was another vent there. So I suppose ganon din, tatanggalin din yung grill to access the vent sir?
Also, sa Westgate ko din nakuha GL ko e, so it seems that it's not just me na nagreklamo about the vent issue sa kanila. Do u mind sharing sir kung anong parts yung hinihintay nila and kung anong procedure daw gagawin on the car? Thanks sir!

April 22nd, 2010 06:07 PM #2820dapat pala hingi ko sya as a freebie hehe.... pero i doubt na ibibigay yun kasi PO transaction yung sakin meaning considered as cash at hindi sila kumita sa financing. malaki kasi kita ng casa sa financing (as much as 90K per unit) kaya pwedeng dun ibawas nalang yung mga extra freebies na naibibigay nila (ipod, extra remote, chattel, insurance).
