Just my 2 cents, if you prefer a powerful engine and space is critical go for carens otherwise GL is better. Why?
- 170 Nm torque is more than enough for 7 seaters GL.
- Better FC (km per ltr). I got 9.8 kpl for my GL A/T (break-in period)
- No need to install turbo timer
- Better ground clearance
- Some Carens owner are already complaining about their A/C; hope I won't encounter A/C problem with my GL
- Compared with carens LX, mas OK safety features of GL (ABS, EBD, BAD, Airbag, Nissan Anti-theft,)
- CHEAPER....
- Some Carens owner are modifying the factory pre-installed tint whereas you can select your preferred tint for GL
- Nissan/Renault badge
- If you prefer A/T, mas user-friendly and GL, no need to understand the fuzzy logic or semi-automatic.
- Hidden/safe spare tire.
- comfy ride (suspension, sound insulation and comfy seats)
NO IDEA ABOUT ACCENT...
Better yet, test drive the 3 units.

Hyundai Accent promises 30 km/li of diesel on a 1.5 crdi vgt engine.
Compared to Livina and Carens which has flexible 3rd row/cargo area, Accent is only sedan body...trunk space is all you have. Accent is cheaper though by around 100k but Livina exterior looks more appealing to me. Interior of Livina is beige which I don't really dig because my van has beige seats also and it's difficult to keep it clean. Carens has lower ground clearance than Livina but I see a lot of Carens on the road.
In contrast, all the Accents I see on the road are taxi...don't know if this is a good or a bad sign. Seldom do I see a private Accent although this may change now with the soaring gas prices.

It seems you are well informed of your choices... That's good! In my case, it took me around 4 months to decide which family car to buy. It all depends actually on your needs, I hope to see another satisfied car buyer whether he'll buy Carens, Accents or GL.
Tama ka pareko'y dami na talaga Carens, muntik na nga ako naabutan lang ako ng price increase and release ng GL. However, I got my GL last 25 June and GL was introduced last 6 June also; within 3 weeks 6th buyer na ako ng GL from Nissan Gallery Quezon Ave alone. I think 2youta was the first buyer.

Georges' unit was only about 300kms on the odo ata when we did that media event. Fresh pa siya.
I think it has more to do with the experience he's had in joining these economy run events. Something which we can all employ in our everyday driving din naman.
Ches,
That die cast Livina was ordered from China, on the internet. I just don't know the site though. It has a different grill, the China (or US Versa-look) grill. But everything about it is so detailed, down to the steering, folding seats, even folding side mirrors.
miaerr,
Thanks for your inquiry. The Sentra we see in the US is unfortuntely not available (yet?) for our region. There is however a Sentra replacement in the pipeline but as to the timing, I would have no idea since I already left the company. But don't fret, NMPI has been talking about it for a while already. There are just a lot of factors to consider before moving on to a new model.
Getting a Grand Livina though provides one with the latest Nissan technologies available to the region. The engine itself is a wonderful piece of work. Also the suspension and ride is so much better than most sedans of that price range (Civic included, I should know, I own an 06 Civic). And the lightness of driving it is such a welcome benefit to those of us who do the daily commute.
welscua,
Kayo ba ito?
And para sa mga nagbabalak mag mags.. nagphotoshop lang ako minsan..

Comparing carens and Grand Livina,
I was able to test drive a Carens LX a couple of weeks ago. What I can say is, for a million bucks, the interior sure doesn't look like it. All plastic. For me, the Grand Livina's interior is so much better, material, and fit and finish-wise. The Carens looks and probably is roomier though with the taller roof and rounded sides. The ride is about the same with the Grand Livina, sedan-like. Although I wasn't really able to take the Carens to its paces.
The Grand Livina naman, we took it up and down Baguio as well as to San Juan, Batangas (lubak-lubak) and even EDSA for about two months to rack up 20,000 kms for one automatic unit and 5000 kms for a manual one. It's what NMPI calls the Nissan pre-sales quality clinic which is done to simulate a year's use of a new model and anticipate whatever technical and quality issues that might arise. Almost daily binyahe yung 2 units over different terrain. And those units are still up and running without any niggles. In fact, they were still used by the media during the economy run. No complaints naman. NMPI's Quality Department really worked overtime to ensure the quality of the Grand Livina.
Here's the Quality Department people with Tech guys from C! Magazine, Top Gear and Phil. Daily Inquirer on one of those Baguio trips.

sayang naman, hopefully it will come immediately dito sa pinas

ang masasabi ko lang dapat GL ang pipiliin because (for long term use) mas matigas ang body compare sa innova, for safety purposes IMO. mas malamig ang aircon, mas good ang looks both interior and exterior, maganda ang makina (dapat i-break in), more passengers to carry, also cheaper ang GL kaysa sa innova, few on the road, FUEL EFFICIENT
bad side ng GL ay not much leg room compare sa innova, gas engine
over all...GL pa rin kaysa sa innova
