PURELY CITY DRIVING (San Mateo, Marikina, Quezon City, Pasig and Megamall areas), plus daily travel/traffic sa school ng mga kids to bring lunch and A/C all the time.
So far satisfied ako sa FC and accdg to Nissan SA ay mag-improve daw ang FC after ng first 1000 pms.

Nope. No money involved sa plaka. Nissan Gallery, Quezon Ave din ako. My SA just asked me kung ano ang preferred kong plate ending.
BTW: sa school ng kids ko, stand-out and GL, maybe this is the first time they've seen a Nissan GL. Magic tint kasi ang nakalagay sa GL ko kaya I could see some carowners sa school parking na staring directly sa ride ko.

Hi All,
It's nice to see that there are already owners of the Nissan Grand Livina here at Tsikot. I was part of the the team that introduced the NGL to the market during my stint at NMPI. I helped handle the marketing and product planning issues for the NGL.
All I can say is, this is one great car. Only a test drive will convince you all how good the performance, handling and comfort of the Grand Livina is. For an MPV, it surely doesn't behave like one. And for a sedan, having an extra row of seats that can fold flat is surely a plus.
With regards to FC, I was the one who supervised the topping up of all units during our media test drive, and I also computed the results. It is true that that the matic got a 14.98kml result, while the manual (driven by Georges Ramirez, son of Tito Poch) got a 26km/l figure. Personally, before that media event, I did a dry run using a manual unit and traversing the same route taken by the motoring media (Total SLEX to Total Makati to Total NLEX, driven on an early Saturday afternoon). With aircon on, and a passenger on-board I did a 20.89 km/l run. Of course, with my previous stints as a economy run participant in various events, I was able to optimize the engine's performance to get that result. Here are my techniques:
1. Using the 6-speed manual, I shift at 1,500 rpm to the next higher gear
2. When accelerating I keep a light foot on the gas
3. I shift to neutral during inclines or when approaching a stop lamp
4. I brake light and early (instead of heavy and last minute) so that I can conserve the vehicles momentum and not necessitate accelerating from a lower speed again.
5. I keep my steady speed at 70-80kph. The longer I have a steady speed at 6th gear, the better fuel consumption figures you'll get. (As long as the engine isn't "hirap")
These are basic techniques you can apply on your daily drive. On the matic unit, I usually keep the rpms at 2,000 at the most, give or take a few, even when accelerating. THe close gearing and responsive shift pattern is enough to run the NGL optimally.
Of course, planning your route as well as avoiding traffic altogether will help as well.
If NGL owners here have an EB scheduled, gimme a PM... I can join you guys and help you understand the car better. I guess I can say I know it inside out having trained the sales agents about the product and having been in charge of the department that launched it.
Congratulations to the new owners! I hope you enjoy the Nissan Grand Livina as much as I did!Hoping to get one myself...
