June 27th, 2008 11:54 PM #218Got to test drive the top of the line Livina and ok pala sya!
1.8L engine is just right for the weight and ride is quite good! Handling is more like a car than a truck. 3rd row is kinda small though and 2nd row too narrow to fit 3 adults comfortably.
Overall, I think its a good buy for families on a budget!

Just returned from our weekly malling/bonding. Route: San Mateo then Pasig (visit Lolo/Lola) then Megamall. A/C? Setting was 2 only and it was OK to my bunso who reserved the entire 3rd row for himself; complete with his "abubot" while my 2 teens occupied the 2nd row, and we started the trip at around 10:00am reaches Pasig at 11:00 am then left at 11:30 am arrived in Megamall at around 12:10pm (kainitan ng araw).
Left Megamall at around 2:20pm going back to home via EDSA, circle and commonwealth; A/C same setting: 2. NO PROBLEM in 3rd row. The ride was very comfy, sound proofing was great and I felt the whole time that I was really driving a sedan and not an MPV. Pero the HU was not playing MP3 CD only audio CD
.
I don't think GL is for family with tight budget. IMO, it is for family that prefer comfort and safety (value for money). My mid-variant cost 898k, I could bought some Innova variant, Avanza, APV, Fuzion GLX, Advie, etc.. if budget is a main factor.
FC: next week.
