February 17th, 2009 01:57 PM #697Finally, got my NAV 4x2 automatic last valentines day, and here are my (NEWBIE) thoughts:PLEASE HELP.
1. I notice that during transition from 1st gear to 2nd gear, at 2.5k rev, I felt or heard a grinding/tremor-like/vibrations located at the area of the accelerator pedal. Is this normal with the A/T version? I theorize that it may be due to the "low-power band" or "close gear-ratio" of the tranny? that manual owners have to cope with during shifting? PLEASE ADVICE.
2. When at idle, I can hear from the cabin, a hydraulic-sounding "pssshhhh". What causes such sound and is this normal? PLEASE ADVICE.
3. What "average" speed should I take the NAV during this early stage? PLEASE ADVICE.
NOTE:
I am a first time owner of a diesel automatic engine.
A million thanks in advance!

February 17th, 2009 07:54 PM #6981. I experience that as well. I actually don't have any idea what it is. It happens when I step hard on the accelerator coming from a shut off. Can it be the turbo?
2. I don't go beyond 100 km/h.

February 18th, 2009 04:16 PM #700Thanks for your immediate responses. As for query No.1 The “sound” occurs when it transitions from 1st to 2nd gear. That is what I observed. Driven a A/T CRV, I can compare it to be it “lag” during gear shifts. Never did I step on the accelerator pedal that hard except during stop and go traffic. As for query No.2 The hydraulic-sounding “pssssshhhh”, still, I have no idea. As for query No.3 Maintaining max speed only at 60 kph to 90 kph. To sir, BoyBakal it does not happen always. Will take note that I will try not to accelerate that hard and break suddenly. Try to push it around 120 kph gradually and ride the momentum of the vehicle to save fuel. I think. To sir kurisukaara, I never accelerate that hard. Thanks. I hope that NISSAN, particularly A/T diesel engines gurus might enlighten me on my queries. PS. e-mailed this matter to nissan already and awaiting their reply.
