^ i don't know about your dmax but that sound is usually the expansion valve of airconditioning systems. yung sa dmax mo bago pa, so medyo nagtataka din ako bakit may ganun.

mga sir is it normal in traffic when you accelerate for 1 sec at the same time hit the brake you will hear a "duggg" sound also when you turn the steering(sometimes only not everytime parang may nauuntog/nasasayad/tinatamaan sa ilalim)? but running in highways(running fast) no sound heard when breaking. i don't hear the sound on the brake pads nor disc in the wheels but underneath the break.. i don't know if it is safe to travel, if not i got to have it checked for safety..

Buti pa kayo umaabot ng 10km/L

    mine is a 4x4 AT odo 4000km

its only getting me 7-8km/L average mix used

yung topgear august issue na 8.4km/L maybe hindi pa naka aircon yun at totally notraf and lightfooted talga

    city -7km/l
Hiway -8km/l (recently on my subic hispeed hiway trip.)

Sir Haihuat parang na ramdaman ko din minsan yang "duggg" sound pero at a stop go traf when i apply brake then acelerate not all the time though i just dont eye on it anymore nga lang..

Sir Jatcos yung aircon sound sama mo ako sa list meron din ako niyang sound na "krrggg" di ko lang pinapansin it doesnt bother me naman...

For me normal lang yun gas sound as this is also present on my other vehicles but the weird sound is what makes me curious.. For most cars the sound is just like "tik shhhhhh" - you could only hear the relay contacts, magnetic clutch engaging, and expansion valve releasing gas..Pero sa navara meron thugg..grgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrgrrr..shhhhh last about 3secs and almost audible inside when windows are rolled up, although visual inspection-wala naman auxilliary fan ang condenser, only 1pc fanbelt going to compressor. Pero not so much to worry nga because separate sa engine ang compressor, iL just wait to my SAs findings..If they say tis normal then i guess i have to get used to the sound. It appears that this is common characteristic of Navara aircon based from previous post.. After all, its still a truck not a ferrari..very nice truck parin..

Sir haihuat, i never encounterd sound when braking but possible cause ng sound during sudden stops is the new brake pads..Eto npansin ko after magpalit ng pads sa sskyan - hindi pa mashado lapat sa lining..whats your odometer reading btw?
I have no sound when turning lock2lock even while moving and hit a hump, but let us hear from 4x4 owners as tires and wheel offset are different from 4x2 - possible wheel rubbing ang naririnig mo..

Sir BoyBakal, after driving 190kph would you consider the truck faster than fort?? From other forums mejo hindi nga daw ganoon katipid ang engine-2.5 but guzzles like 3.0? Sofar sakin 11-14km/L attainable dpende driving condition. You might want to consider installing WMInjection they claimed good mileage daw..

    FYI.

GRUNT/POP NOISE FROM COMPRESSOR UPON ENGINE START-UP

SOME VEHICLES WITH AIR CONDITIONING UTILIZING R-134A MAY EXHIBIT A MOMENTARY GRUNT/POP NOISE (AUDIBLE SPECIALLY IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE AREA) AFTER BEING PARKED FOR SOME TIME AND THE COMPRESSOR IS ENGAGED BEFORE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HAS WARMED UP. THIS IS DUE TO R-134A BEING PUMPED OUT OF THE COMPRESSOR. R-134A WILL TRAVEL TO THE COOLEST POINT (THE COMPRESSOR) ONCE THE ENGINE HAS COOLED, DUE TO THE TEMP DIFFERENTIAL BETWEEN THE ENGINE AREA AND THE VEHICLE INTERIOR. WHILE MANY VEHICLES HAVE PCM STRATEGIES THAT ADDRESS THIS BT REPEATED CYCLING THE COMPRESSOR ON START-UP, THIS MAY NOT ADDRESS THIS, AND COMPONENT DURABILITY IS NOT AFFECTED.

MINIMIZE THE NOISE BY TURNING THE A/C SYSTEM TO VENT BEFORE EXITING AND IN MILD AMBIENT TEMPERATURES (50-75F), WAITING A FEW MINUTES BEFORE TURNING ON THE A/C OR DEFROST.

This happened on some FORD vehicles and we ended replacing lots of parts and no improvement has been made. The SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE was issued and proper explanation to customer was given with this kind of concern.

Hope NISSAN will do the same. The A/C noise concerns raised here is almost identical to the information I attached above.

Hope this helps and give "better cooling"!!!

Has anyone here tried changing their 4x2 tires (205) to 4x4 tires (255/70 r16)?

If so, how much did you invest on it and which brand would you recommend?

Also, is it just me or halata talaga ang difference ng look ng 4x2 and 4x4 (height and flares)? Ang peg kasi ng mga sales agents ay walang pinagkaiba sa itsura.

    Thanks!

Btw, sabi ng sales agent ko may promo daw ang 4x2 AT. Free bedliner, window visor, stepboard, and hood visor-- same sa 4x2 MT promo nila last month. Until this month nalang daw ang promo ng AT.

sir bombi08,cguro lampas pa 10km/ltr ung sa akin kung hindi lang bottleneck traffic ang madadaanan ko pauwi, may ginagawa kasing flyover on the way sa haus. but from what i understand, mas malakas talaga ung FC ng 4x4 compared sa 4x2. so at this time, if ul compare our FC, lugi ako.huhuhu.

by the way, i lukd up the link posted earlier in this thread. ung tire&wheel bible something. na alarm ako dun sa isang analysis na binigay ng website. pag pinalitan mo pala ung 16in rims mo ng 20in rims and ur speedo says ur running at 70kph, ur actual speed pala is 79.6kph. laki ng difference ah.. plano ko pa naman sana mag pa palit ng 20in, pam porma.hehehe.
