I went to nissan gallery today to look at the nissan navara. I like how it looked, big and macho. fender up front have plastic guards already installed unlike some others which got only half. the bed is big although I have a big concern regarding the tailgate, It cant be locked? I even asked the SA if it was possible for them to install one even at extra charge and he said it would void the warranty. The rear fender well, well its shallow without plastic guards. never-the-less the exterior is still pleasing to the eyes. The engine bay looks neat, and even the air intake is quite high so headlight deep water fording is possible if the situation demands, and as per asking the computer box is safely located in the dashboard as per SA. The main difference between the engine of the 4x4 and 4x2, it that the former uses a High pressure turbo and the latter Mid pressure turbo and both are non-variable geometry turbo's a per asking and brochure.
On the interior side I would say its average, although big as it is, I find the second row too upright, unlike in the strada and the d-max. And if you're thinking of putting subs behind there, think again! The aircon controls are as basic as you get, non- climate control, but cheaper to service if it breaks down in the future. The 4x4 switch (lacks feel) is simple to use although you might want to lift the truck if your gonna use it for serious off roads as it has a low brake over angle but for looks only it will fit the role. The stereo is simple with no i-pod interface or usb port so you may want an upgrade.
the doors have a nice solid thump when you close it and the rear doors, narrow as it maybe opens with a very large angle. The step boards are mounted on the body of the truck not on the chassis so you may have to check it once in a while for integrity as rust may develop on the body mounting points, and as you know rust and stress don't mix well.
Overall I like this truck as much as the strada. Porma pareho!

we have installed the OME suspension on the Navara. The front height increase by 1.25 inches. The owner fitted his navara 4wd with 265/75R16 tires adding height and heft. According to the owner the front end bottoming out is gone, he has more control over his pick-up. Below is picture of the height increase. Will take pictures again once we install the other kit.

We used OME shocks and OME Medium springs in front. We plan to lift the rear by installing longer shackles.

February 12th, 2008 10:28 PM #268well i went to nissan gallery and inquired a navarra there and i can say SA there are more friendlier than at NISSAN SHAW Branch which told me a reservation fee of 50t, my wife even went there to inquire and they told her to reserve 100t
i think SA are so arrogant to treat a prospective buyer when my wife came there they have a stock of silver m/t which just came... (just feel peeps there dont treat customer right) they dont smile or doesnt seem sincere speaking..
also went to mantrade (SA are nicer here also) to check there silver 4x4 m/t coz i havent seen silver mostly black only,my wife saw a silver which i don't care coming back to shaw, which is closer to us..
also went to nissan north edsa (SA also nice and sincere to help you ) to check the color red they have which just came also they told me each branch got alloted of 5 units not sure..
so that leaves me to see blue which i haven't seen, before i finally decide what i want.. they only got 4 colors black, silver, red and blue..
i think if i pay a reservation fee unit will come faster than what they're telling me.. anyway hope it goes well ltrs...
