just a friendly suggestion, from now on sked and details for any activities ,events and EB's for our club will no longer be posted , only the date will be posted on threads, as I remember one of the moderators have insisted that these are public threads, so anyone can posts or see everything here, I have consulted other members regarding this, and they agree, lets say for security purposes nalang din mga Sir, that is why I am asking all enlisted members to PM (private message) me their contact details as others have already done, so we could inform and share informations relative to our club only to club members.
let us keep posting here everything related to our Rides nalang, and keep other things amongst ourselves , anyway mas madali magbasa ng text from a fellow member than find a PC to check the latest post here

October 28th, 2009 12:09 PM #2064Sir VJ, saan mo nakuha and howmuch? i was offered once sa banawe pero power antenae conversion, im not convinced parang hindi tatagal. Mas ok yang rubber ducky kesa sa oem whip, hindi sumasabit at hindi obstructed view, cute din. I think somebody was asking about this mod also because he's having problem using car cover..
Regarding TT(turbo timer) i practiced human turbo timing including aircon drying.. 10-15mins before my destination, i avoid boost(around 2krpm), or if its on the steep parking inside building, i let it idle/ cool for some minutes.. Same with aircon, i press (AC off) 10-15mins before destination this kills the compressor removing moisture due to difference of temperature between ambient air and evaporator. Sounds taxing but im used to it na/ part of my routine.

human turbo timer is a good tip sir... honestly, you're such a big help to us here sir... parang online training.... hehehe... sir let me guess...mechanical engineer ba sir ang background mo? hehehe... with the ambient air and temperature difference terms, you seem to know well the heat flow & condensation (thermodynamics)... hehehe
BTW, those were exactly the same advice I got from a friend mechanic naman (pero not as techy as sir jatcos) that idling for several minutes before shutting off the engine will prevent premature wear and tear not only to turbo but also to the engine... especially when you travel to the province, where the turbo works hards for several times (for me 400+ km of continuous driving)... as I understand, shutting it down immediately while the turbo and the engine are still too hot will burn trapped oil... idling for several minutes before engine shut off will allow oil or fluids to recirculate and cool down... in addition to that you may also want to open the hood while idling and cooling down and keep it open until the engine totally cooled down... that may also help lengthen the life of the rubbers and hoses in your engine... same as through with the A/C, turn it off and let the fan work for several minutes... this will let the moisture trapped within the evaporator dries and exit, to avoid the formation of moulds and also avoid corrosion to occur...

your suggestion sir is very valid... this is to avoid things like the previous issues... or while we still don't have our own website let us use the Navara Club Philippines thread, like what eavesdropper and loki-chaos have suggested... let me post the link http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...t=62871&page=3
I also pasted this post by OJ in the Navara Club thread....
