Kung tutuusin same ang engine ng mga NAV's natin be it 4x2 or 4x4. Turbo charging lang ang pinagkaiba. One is set high (4x4) and the other is set at mid (4x2), i think the added boost is to compensate the added stress on the 4x4. Mukhang puwede ser CYPED? Not a techy guy pero mukang swak itong mod na ito! Will be tuning on this query . . .
One more thing, nasabi na mo rin ito sir at ni sir jatcos or don cuadro, the rear wheel drive, isang tyre lang ang nag-grip. Don't know which one but I think its the left wheel that spins while the other "waits" . . . solution mo yata dito ser eh yung DIFFERENTIAL LOCK. Tama ba?so that both tyre will have traction? Asteeg ito! ! !
HANEP KA TALAGA SER! POGEH! ! ! YMCA NA ULIT ! ! ! !

October 25th, 2009 01:49 AM #2038*cydepx44 - Turbocharger mod also caught my attention some months back, but i can't find successful results made by other owners.. Maybe you could start the lead or some turbo expert might be able to help us
.. So far based from market availabilty, most feasible mod is chip + alcohol injection.
Did some research with Honeywell site there are numbers but not sure if its the exact part for the year model. Garett

As per your request here are some details from manual, difference of 4x2 to 4x4 TC. I guess turbo behavior can be altered by varying frequencies in the boost controller (engine communication controlled by pulse width modulation) existing chip upgrade does this job already.
Main difference are Water-coolant piping, Turbo size is still the same(can somebody verify this on actual?), from pics impeller housing for 4x2 is beefier.. Don't know though if VNT specs are different but from Honeywell site its the same banana..
Coolant lines for high variant must be due to higher operating velocities requiring more heat dissipation.

Sir I'm also planning to put one to my NAV...Blitz FATT yung brand...slightly used got it to a friend....kaya lang I think twice...warranty issues kasi....pero malaking tulong ito....as said by people of Honda CABSPEED....importance: yung return all operations nung oil at the same time to cool down yung compressor sa turbo sa engine natin...advisable din ito even sa air-con compressor natin...dahil it use compress gas with high temp....baka one of this days ipa-install ko na...
Meron ako kakilala nasira yung turbo nung nissan patrol...100k plus nagastos...he realized na turbo timer lang daw pala preventive solution to maintain he's turbocharger to last long.....even the nissan dealer didn't honor the warranty period...2 mos. prior it lapses within the 3 years warranty.....possibly normal wear and tear....kaya ganun...kaya ingatan natin yung turbo natin more or less...or baka mas-more pa yung gastos natin...kesa sa patrol....hehehe...
got this from wikepedia:
A turbo timer is a device designed to keep an automotive engine running for a pre-specified period of time in order to automatically execute the cool-down period required to prevent premature turbo wear and failure. After a period of driving when a turbocharger has been working hard, it is important to let the engine run at idle speed for a period of time, allowing the compressor assembly to cool from the lower gas temperatures in both the exhaust and intake tracts. At the same time the lubricating oil from the engine is able to circulate properly so the turbine won't burn the lubricating oil that would otherwise be trapped within the charger with the turbine rotating at high speed. With regard to modern automotive turbochargers, the need for a turbo timer can be eliminated by simply ensuring the car does not produce any 'boost' (during driving) for several minutes prior to the ignition being shut off. Most turbo timers are based on digital electronics.
Turbo timers can usually be disabled by an external switch, this is normally done using the handbrake switch, or using an automatic one.
hope this helps.
