So yung lang mga sir, pag nagpa PMS kayo try to ask your SA about the repositioning of the turbo boost… malamang di nila alam… hehehe… hindi naman, malamng alam na nila yun… hehehe
that's true sir, since it's original position is attached to the body that's why you can hear its sound inside the cabin. umc has this advisory on all navara to reposition this electronic solenoid valve transferred on any part of the engine (which is dampened against the body). in this case the alternator is the nearest.

and also, has anyone of you know anything about electronic rust proof? i like the idea but needs to confirm. www.ruststopnorthamerica.com

Lots of thank you!
Sir nonpareil, its a stock 4x4rims n tyres. Notice the protrusion at the rear by about 1/2". The front tyres seems OK with te wheel-wells, no protrusion and rubbing even on full-turns and uneven roads. I think stock lift on front could swallow up to 275 whithout rubbing.

Regarding rustproofing, I think the technology is like annodizing the steel and maybe good only for older cars and those with body-repaired damage. And yes passing current in a conductor prevents cathodic reaction, application is well known also in wire-communications. Not unless you live or frequent on bodies of water, i dont find it necessary as factory proofing is sufficient. Better give it a try though

But then again, I guess our 4x4s are well equipped to adventure into these kinds of roads in the Philippines. I haven't had the chance to go back there in 10 years... I'm not sure if the roads leading to sagada are better now. There were a lot of purists who were against in developing it back then.

Ingat na lang bro... post pics (pag nav ang dinala mo).

I have seen some Nav here in our city though konti palang, less than 10 probably. It would be great to be able to organize a local chapter here.

Thank you for the reply! Ingat sa bagyo guys!
you are not gonna regret it bro... if our navs are good enough to thread the waist deep floods here in Manila, it should also be good to enjoy driving it in your city. I had the chance to visit Zamboanga in the '90s. My friends and I did a stupid thing of hiring a 4-engine speed boat and landed somewhere what is now called Basilan... :screwloose: The Lobregats go: "what the f**^! were you thinking boys??!"

OJ213, Maybe someday we could arrange something for the club to ro-ro our navs to Zamboanga. Dun na tayo magpa change oil. Pagbalik sa Manila, change oil ulit! :bruce_lee:

Bro,try to "talk" to your insurance guy na lang. ipa-DOA mo na yan para change unit agad. I don't think the casas could ever bring your nav back to how it was before. You are so lucky you have AOC included in your policy.

*ghost recon - yes sir, I tried this morning openning my hood to hear there is still that mild dong-dong-dong sound... I can still hear a trace of it and even milder than before... I can hear nothing inside the cabin anymore... I was looking at it and there is a rubber mounting... and yun nga, maybe the rubber mounting is not enough to dampen the sound when it is attached to the rigid bracket from the body and the sound is still magnified... the guy from nissan call it turbo boost pero it is the turbocharger boost control solenoid valve...

*softop - i just want to appreciate yung post mo... sir ganda! bagay na bagay sa nav mo yung bike rack mo na nakakabit sa tow hitch mo...

BTW heres mine. I refrained from using my towball for ropes as they can be dangerous like slingshots. The replacement is a load rated 3/4 D-shackle up to 4.75 tonnes in a solid bracket.
Bro thanks! I'm sorry for my newbiegnorance but I have never heard of this before: "The replacement is a load rated 3/4 D-shackle up to 4.75 tonnes in a solid bracket." Is it the red (parang tow-hook) thing attached to your receiver hitch? It sure looks good on your truck. Parang nag-iimbita ng hahatakin.

It's always nice to know that we have a Nav enthusiast like Jatcos in this forum. Very informative... from taking the chrome plates off his grill to his Macgyver-like technical know-how in tweaking power windows, diesel engines, wheels and what not, and down to his 3/4 D-shackle (naks!)... pa seminar ka naman one-time in one of our EBs bro .

OT: Would you know anything about Garmin GPSs? Thanks!

thank you so much sir,
i have 2 more (i hope you don't mind, since you're a techie person). i asked around some car accessories store and they don't have any idea about tailgate damper. http://ezdown.com/ may mga instances na kasi na muntik nang maka aksidente tailgate ko, lalo na sa mga bata, aside from hirap magbukas at magsara either si mrs or katulong. if we (NCP) can get this in bulk sama ako, PLEASE!

the 2nd thing is ideas on putting tailgate lock.

Again, thank you!
you and some of the guys are a big help, i'm sure not only to me. i'm learning a lot on the technicals of our truck with all your help.

julez mahman! buti naman nagustuhan mo.. dumadami na mods ko ha? haha! not as nice though as what "bling-bling-blings" and what "dong-dong-dongs" you have installed in your nav.

very good tip on the "dong-dong-dong" turbocharger boost control solenoid valve's position error. I told my wife to listen closely to any "dong-dong-dongs" she might hear inside the car but to no avail... I guess mine is still running ok.

good job on your ondoy relief effort bro. basta nga ba ilokano maasahan...
