jeff, honda uses isuzu sourced diesel engines for their cars. so far sa europe pa lang ang alam kong may diesel civic. pati rav4, etc.
sa thailand pala nakakita ako ng isuzu car na re-badged civic, pero gas powered. isuzu trades parts and engines, platforms, etc. with isuzu kasi.

toyboxph,
honda has already designed and is producing its own diesel engine in-house, the 2.2L "i-CDT" four-cylinder turbodiesel. sa european accord palang yata available itong makina
anyway, medyo OT na tayo hehe. my apologies.

astig yung diesel ng new BMW 530d! i remember, this year daw ata ilalabas yung Xterra ng Nissan, its a diesel powered SUV, same size ng frontier pick-up. Pati yung bagong Revo (looks like a hi lux surf).... so malabo na ilabas yung diesel x-trail dito.
about the diesel cars, i learned how to drive using a Nissan Sentra DX diesel, 1.7L, matulin, bagal lang acceleration pero can do 140kph din, bilis pa akyat sa sta. fe compared to petrol powered cars.

alam ko may ginawang law dati na pinagbabawal ang sedan na diesel. ewan ko lang kung nabago na ito kaya nakakapagbenta na ang bmw and benz ng mga diesel variants.
one other thing, diesel quality here has no quality. as in puro dumi and tubig. kaya hindi rin tatagal ang mga hi-tech diesel engines dito.
