The model in Thailand (ASEAN) is powered by a 109PS 1.6 liter HR16DE engine.

The Tiida is one of those in-between segment cars. It can compete with both compacts (Corolla Altis) and sub-compacts (Vios).

PS: In the US its sold as the Versa.

NMPI decided not to sell here the Tiida due to a fact na pangit sya at saka papalitan din yan in two years time by a much better new generation Tiida.

Like the rapidly aging Sentra would be any better?

They could have sold the Tiida here to combat the Honda Jazz and the Ford Focus. Sold it alongside the old Sentra and the Livina, if simply to increase their sales volume.

NMPI actually planned of doing that(selling the Tiida here) but they've decided not to do that.Oh well hoping that the local assembly of new Nissan Sentra 200 will start sometime this year.
