October 16th, 2003 08:26 PM #1I read somewhere in the forum that Synthetic Oil is not allowed for the Nissan Patrol. Is this true? Does it include the Safari Series also? Was thinking of buying the Mobil1 Fully Synthetic 0w-40 w supersynth(tama ba?) Thanks

From what I heard that's for the old Patrol engines. Our TD42 engine has been using synthetic oil that was maintained by casa. They use a German brand fully synth oil, I just forgot what brand it was. When we pruchased our unit last year, I was filled up with Mobil Full Synth oils, but due to financial constraints, I'm now using Petron All-Terrain. :D Btw, it will comsume 10 liters of oil per oil change. And about a liter add inbetween services.

I'm not that familiar with oil viscosity and ratings, I better leave this matter to our oil gurus; roydok, jackaroo & ondoy to answer your queries.
