mga sirs, im now looking at the market for a compact SUV. so far, ive short-listed between the Tucson and X-trail.

I am actually leaning towards the 2010 x-trail but have mis-givings particularly on its fuel consumption. some says that its only 7 to 8 kms/L. as per your experiences, ano ba talaga fuel consumption nya?

    how about the tucson?

    will appreciate your advise. thanks!

Gas SUV and fuel efficiency. Not really meant to be mixed. :/

    You're better off with a tucson diesel/montero

Got an X-Trail 250 (non-X version) last February. Fuel consumption on city driving is very disappointing... only getting 5-6 km/L especially when traffic is stop and go. However, highway driving is quite good as I could hit 14 km/L even with a full load in the baggage compartment and with 3-4 passengers. Torque feels low at low rpm so the tendency is to floor the gas a bit when starting from a stopped position (i.e., red light). Sluggish at first but once you're running, acceleration increases significantly until you hit 80-100 kph.

I've been experimenting on various gasoline brands and type and couldn't find one that will give me good FC consistently. My 2007 Altis, for instance, does very well with Shell V-Power. Any recos on fuel to use from fellow X-Trail owners? Thanks!

I just recently bought X-trail 2010 model here in Qatar. It is the same body as of the previous models, only slight changes on the dashboad. The instrument panel still located on the middle. I will post some pictures soon..

If the dashboard is still in the middle, it's not the new X-trail.
