Sir, it is better to observe an expert adjust the points, then, pwede mo nang praktisin ang pagajust. its not so hard. when observing the mechanic, parang tutotial.

BTW, if you want to prolong contact point life for more than a year, buy a kit from Alexan (raon), have it be built by an electronic technician. It is called HEEIS or High Energy Electronic Ignition System. Mura lang yon (P500 ciguro). The contact point will pass a current of 4amp, with the HEEIS, the points will pass only 150ma. The 4Amp will be absorbed by the transistor ignition system. Fuel savings may be increased by 10% due to the higher voltage delivered by the kit. Regular HV will be 20kv, with the kit will be increased to 30kv. Of course, a CDI add-on will be the best (up to 40kv or more)but it is a complicated process.
The HEEIS is your best bet. It is simple, cheap and reliable. Hope this info will help you. Happy motoring!!

mga dating mekaniko in the 80's gumagamit ng blade ng lagari pang bakal pagwalang feeler gauge. the thickness of the hacksaw blade was very close to the feeler gauge size needed to adjust most jap and euro brand contact point gaps then available domestically. also always change the condenser when you replace the contact points. to set timing, position crankshaft pulley marker to correct position. if no marks exist then set no. 1 cylinder to btdc position. the contact points should now be fully open.set the correct gap. check with a timing light and/or vacuum gauge. adjust distributor position as needed.
