For those who can spare the time, best value with similar effect as professionally done coating is using consumer grade ceramic coating. For brand new cars, you can use as a base Rivers Hydrophobic wax finished with ceramic coating. Then top off with Turtle wax Hybrid Ceramic Coating. Maintained weekly by Rivers Ceramic shampoo. Dry off using large towel and just patting it dry on the horizontal surfaces. I am satisfied on the current performance. Before I use only Rivers, but the coating lasts only for a week and easily removed during washing. You can feel the coating in your hands after washing your car. The hydrophobic property also disappears after two washes. Topping off with Turtle ceramic coating increased durability. No longer feel the coating in my hand. I am not a fan of super shiny car. Too much attention and might also be an intentional scratch magnet. Just enough shine is okay for me and not a dust magnet. Using conventional wax would have a shine but would tend to get your car a dust magnet. I will still observe performance during rainy season.
