when i had my honda prelude, the car can't start without pressing on the clutch. this should be a habit for all when starting a manual transmission car.

Car released in US will not start unless you depressed on the brake during engine start. This is safety features mandatory in US.

kaya I posted it here... I wanted to know if this is observed other diesel Adventures too... because if it is isolated to my vehicle alone then that would tell me that is something is wrong (and my car is only a year 1/2 old and has had regular PM every 5T Km)... but so far, based on feedback from posts here and in MAC, as well as results when I had my Adventure checked, it seems that this is expected. it isn't a high risk problem (functionality-wise or safety-wise)... and it should be fixable (driver's/owner's discretion, I guess).

I still have a month or two before my 30T Km checkup.

    Background:
GSL Diesel 2004 (prior the latest Adventure upgrade) - so Seth is a little over a year only (or 25000Km old). Regular PMS.

    Problem:
Clatter/rattle sound on cold start from the transmission. The sound goes away temporarily when I step on the clutch. The sound goes away after some time or when I step on the clutch a couple of times or if I move the stick a bit in nuetral. The sound is not present when gear is engaged and moving.

    Update:
    1. I saw sign of re-occurence of leak at my transimissions rear part (casa supposedly had replaced gasket during 25K PMS). Pictures attached.
    2. I noticed it is louder when on an incline.
It's probably normal. Most cars sound quieter idling with the clutch depressed.

Did this just happen recently or has this been like this for a long time now?

are these "transmission problem (clatter sound...)" only being experienced with the diesel manual transmission variants only? or pati gas?
