Mitsubishi has been in trouble for at least four years already. Even if they go under, there are still lots of dealers trading in Mitsubishi parts. It should be okay. They're not going to die out completely, but it's going to take a long time for Mitsu to rebuild.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

There is no such thing as a "hobby company". They are losing billions of dollars and nobody wants to bail them out. They were expecting the new Eclipse would help Mitsu's sales but I have only seen 2 on the road since it came out.

besides the lancer would probably have lower resale value after 5 years as compared to an altis or civic. or even a mazda3.

I don't think a huge company like Mitsubishi will totally close down. They may be losing money in certain geographical regions, but actually earning a profit in the Philippines or other areas. And also, Mitsubishi has its own plant here in the Philippines. If it is earning a profit selling vehicles to local consumers, they will keep it afloat (although new vehicle designs may be slow in coming).

I think the news links you posted are more than 1 year old, and here we are with Mitsu coming out with a 2005 model.

Kung totally malugi man ang Mitsubishi, it will most likely be taken over by a much larger auto maker and keep the name. Meaning, yung management ang nalulugi, not the brand itself. As a rough analogy, Red Ribbon being bought by Jollibee. Pero Red Ribbon pa rin ang pangalan niya, at hindi naman nabago yung menu. So they may continue supporting your Lancer vehicle for many years, eventhough Mitsubishi is now owned by DaimlerChrysler for example.

By the way, for a more recent news, read this news article about the huge loss of Ford Motors in the states.

But if you look at it here in the Philippines, Ford is selling briskly and may not be affected by it.

Totoo po bang magsasara na ang Mitsubishi?
