mine Gen1 Paj A/T (Subic)
130 kph pero kaya pa...problema ko nag downshift yung A/T at this speed umaabot 5500 RPM! (so release pedal ako..parang sasabog makina eh).
Got to have my accelerator cable checked masyado yata adjustment.
I did washer mod pala. Also had carbon clean done at Betan 6 months ago.
Try nyo din Bio Diesel.

the pajero is not really meant for high speed cruising.
1) gearing ratio meant for low-rev high torque performance
2) optimal torque is already reached at 2,800rpm - 3,000 rpm
3) high center of gravity
4) high wind drag coefficient being an SUV/squarish in design etc...
In my case, I have already maxed boost of my 4M40 to 12psi, used open type air filter, replaced all intercooler and exhaust plumbing, about to install a water injection induction system in the intercooler, used 10% blend biodiesel --- but was just able to top out at 150kph at the North Expressway!!!

This topic challenged me to step harder on my Pajero accelerator. The best I could get was 135kph (A/C, Stereo, Headlight On) this morning along the sucat-alabang stretch (SLEX). Di na kaya ng dibdib ko (but I could go 160 for my civic) or could be worried with speed limit violation. All stock for my 2.8L A/T fieldmaster. Woodfire: 1) How would you able to get 12 PSI boost, who could measure this?

1) Install a manual boost controller; 2) Install a boost guage (analogue would suffice)
But at the end of the day, your cruising speed will be severely limited by the pajero's gearing ratio (differential ring & pinion).
Has anyone of you tried buying or installing front bumper that's made in taiwan (yung...
